'Twas in the Moon of Wintertime

This translation of a French Canadian carol which employs images of North American Indian lore has become increasingly popular in recent years. Roberts' setting retains a simplicity of character in keeping with the text and, while colorfully modal, deftly avoids the pitfalls of trying to sound too authentically "Indian".
