The Angel's Message

This anthem provides an opportunity for young people to sing with an adult choir. Peter Pindar Stearns is well known for his ability to sensitively underscore the emotions of the text and here in The Angels Message, he creates a melody that is echoed by the organ accompaniment. The youth choir is given the first two verses alone, while the adults sing the third verse (men on melody and women on descant). The fourth verse combines all forces and finally a solo voice concludes the work.
