Open O Lord

This beautiful motet is a setting of a prayer from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer. Its graceful sound is created by mostly step-wise motion and a sensitive rise and fall of the long phrases. The vocal parts stay comfortably in the middle of the range. The setting is further enhanced by subtly shifting tonalities that are immediately attractive. Open O Lord would be appropriate for any season as well as a choral prayer.
