* released in conjunction with the 5 year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy
* artfully crafted solo lines and undulating harmonic theme
* rhythmic and harmonic build, after which the piece settles to a quiet close
* encouraged as a September prelude or concert piece for that month
| Composed for the first anniversary of 9/11, this work conveys the wide range of feelings that we have all felt about that tragedy, and is suitable for a recital or a special service for 9/11 (remember, 2006 will be the fifth anniversary). The harmonic langauge of this work gets rather dissonant along the way and builds a crescendo up to the climax, six bars from the end. You'll need some time with your instrument to work out the registration, though there are a few helpful notations in the score indicating when to add stops.
